Peas Nominally Unchanged, Hopeful

PANAMA - Jan 3/25 - SNS -- Global markets for yellow peas ended the week nominally unchanged because of the holiday period.

Though in holiday mode, some market participants are anxious to see whether fresh demand from India will materialize now that the deadline for on board bills of lading has been extended to February 28.

Some observers believe that given the quantities of peas that have already arrived and those enroute, buyers could be less aggressive.


Dry Beans Unchanged In Holiday Trade

PANAMA - Jan 3/25 - SNS -- Global dry edible beans were largely unchanged in limited holiday season trading activity.

This was reflected in the U.S. dry edible bean price index was unchanged on the week, closing at 98.4. So far this season, the index has averaged 94.13 points, down from 110.53 across the 2023-24 marketing campaign.

Markets for other pulses were largely unchanged. The spot global price index gained 0.1 points during the week to close at 108.2, while the Canadian pulse price indices was unchanged at 94.8.
