Weather Situation A cold front over western Victoria will cross the State tonight. A high pressure system will cross New South Wales on Thursday, before moving over the Tasman Sea on Friday. A low pressure trough will deepen over central Australia on Friday, before moving eastward and crossing Victoria on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas, scattered in the southwest, extending to central parts this evening. Snow above 1400 metres at night. Possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms about the northeast, central districts and the southwest. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds, strong about the Alpine peaks, shifting westerly in the late afternoon and evening.Thursday 1 OctoberIsolated showers across southern and eastern parts, clearing during the morning. Snow possible above 1400 metres during the early morning. Areas of morning fog across the north. A mild, partly cloudy day, with cloud clearing inland during the late afternoon and evening. Light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Friday 2 OctoberIsolated morning fog in the northeast. A dry, warm and sunny day with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, strong and gusty at times across the south and about the alpine peaks.Saturday 3 OctoberIsolated showers developing over the southwest in the morning, becoming widespread and tending to rain at night. Showers extending to the central parts in the evening. The chance of a thunderstorm over the southwest during the afternoon. A mostly sunny morning before cloud increases from the west during the afternoon. Warm to hot with fresh north to northwesterly winds, strong and gusty in the south and about the alpine peaks, shifting cooler southwesterly over western and central parts during the afternoon and evening.Sunday 4 OctoberRain over the southwest, extending to western and central districts during the day. A warm and mostly sunny day across the north and east, mild and cloudy in the south and west.
