Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 1/20 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea maintains settled weather across New South Wales as it extends a ridge across the state, while a strong cold front slowly approaches from the west. Conditions are expected to warm significantly for most areas across the weekend ahead of this front, which is then forecast to affect southern New South Wales during the first half of next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayDry and mostly sunny. Patchy morning fog in the east. Daytime temperatures above average, most notably across the southwest and southeast. North to northeast winds, freshening along the coast in the afternoon. Surf conditions along the northern half of the coast in the morning may be more powerful than they appear and are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing and swimming.Saturday 3 OctoberDry and mostly sunny. Hot in the far west. Daytime temperatures above average, tending well above average in the west and southeast. Northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh across the far west during the day.Sunday 4 OctoberDry and mostly sunny, apart from the chance of a shower near the Victorian border. Possible raised dust in the far west. Daytime temperatures well above average, particularly in the west. North to northwesterly winds, fresh and gusty across the west and south. Fresh northeasterly sea breezes along the coast during the afternoon.Monday 5 OctoberShowers across the south, most likely about the southern ranges. Dry and mostly sunny in the northeast. Daytime temperatures above average in the central and northeast, tending below average in the south and southwest. Fresh and gusty north to northwesterly winds ahead of a trough, tending south to southwesterly behind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDN10031
