WASHINGTON - Jan 12/23 - SNS -- The U.S. flaxseed harvest totaled 2.96 million bushels, down 31% from the previous year, according to the USDA's final production estimates for 2023.
Harvested area totaled 160,000 acres in 2023, down 34% from 2022. Harvested acreage in North Dakota, the largest flaxseed-producing State, was estimated at 103,000 acres, down 36% from 2022. The average United States yield for 2023, at 18.5 bushels per acre, was up 0.8 bushel from 2022.
