Canada's Chickpea Exports Extend Weak Trend
PANAMA - Jul 3/24 - SNS -- Canada's movement of chickpeas during May dropped versus the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Shipments for the month reached 8,966 metric tons (MT), down from 11,069 MT the previous month. This increased movement so far during the marketing year to 174,968, down 3% last year.
During the month, United States was the biggest destination, buying 2,300 MT. Italy was the second most important importer receiving 1,792 MT, followed by Israel at 752 MT.
