Turkey's Chickpea Imports Post Weak Month

PANAMA - Jul 5/24 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of chickpeas in April were well down, plunging compared to the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports totalled 16,571 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 52% from the 34,547 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 111,309 MT, compared to 101,363 during the previous calendar year.

The number one shipper throughout the month was Russia, shipping 10,033 MT. Canada was the second most important supplier supplying 3,162 MT, followed by Argentina at 1,227 MT.
