WASHINGTON - Jul 12/24 - SNS -- Total cir=tru fruit output is up in the United States as gains in orange output offzset declines in other fruits, according to the USDA.
The United States all orange forecast for the 2023-2024 season is 2.76 million tons, up 2% from the previous forecast and up 8% from the 2022-2023 final utilization.
The United States 2023-2024 grapefruit crop is forecast at 340,000 tons, down 1% from the previous forecast but up less than 1% from last season's final utilization. The California forecast, at 4.20 million boxes (168,000 tons), is up 2% from the previous forecast but down 2% from the last season.
The United States tangerine and mandarin crop is forecast at 981,000 tons, up 9% from the previous forecast and up 2% from last season's final utilization. The California tangerine and mandarin forecast, at 24.0 million boxes (960,000 tons), is up 9% from the previous forecast and up 2% from last season.
The 2023-2024 United States lemon crop is forecast at 1.08 million tons, up 17% from the previous forecast but down 2% from last season's final utilization. The California forecast, at 26.0 million boxes (1.04 million tons), is up 18% from the previous forecast but unchanged from the final 2022-2023 season.
