Birdseeds Remain Steady
PANAMA - Jul 12/24 - SNS - North American birdseed ingredient markets were largely unchanged against expectations of reduced output of both sunflower and millet seed.
Canadian canaryseed production will be up from last season if yields can match their recent five year averages based on an increase in seeded area from 256,200 to 290,900 acres.
By contrast, land in white proso millet in the United States dropped from 619,000 to 450,000 acres, oil type sunflower fell from 1.16 million to 765,000 acres and confection sunflower from 154,000 to 133,500 acres.
