Slack Spot Demand For Peas

PANAMA - Jul 19/24 - SNS -- North American field pea markets were feeling the influence of initial harvest activity on the continent and slack spot demand during the past week.

This is speeding up the convergence of spot and new crop markets in both Canada and the United States, with spot and fill in buying at a virtual stand still.

Worries persist about the status of crops in parts of the Canadian growing area, with the week starting with an estimated 18% of all pulse crops behind normal development, including 25% in northern crop districts.
