Old, New Crop Lentils Converging
PANAMA - Jul 19/24 - SNS -- Consistent with most pulses widely grown in the northern hemisphere, spot lentil markets continued to decline into new crop pricing levels.
Many buyers are reluctant to add to their new crop coverage in hopes that prices will decline further once this year's harvest get underway and there is a better sense of actual yields.
Conditions across most growing areas are highly variable, allowing buyers to focs on the good fields while processors and exporters have a greater tendency to see the problems.
