Lentil Imports By Turkey Post Strong Result

PANAMA - Jul 23/24 - SNS -- At this point in this calendar year recorded a better performance, with lentil imports for Turkey rocketed relative to the previous month in May, judging from official trade statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports during the month totalled 20,272 metric tons (MT), up from 12,340 MT the previous month. This lifted imports so far during the calendar year to 215,147, down 52% last year.

Current trade statistics reported Canada was largest origin, selling 16,191 MT during the month. Kazakhstan was the second most important supplier supplying 2,572 MT, followed by Russia at 1,388 MT.
