Turkey's Chickpea Exports Post Easy Performance
PANAMA - Jul 23/24 - SNS -- Export shipments of chickpeas for Turkey were well down, plunging versus the previous month in May, trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reveals.
Shipments for the month totalled 12,396 metric tons (MT), down from 19,098 MT the previous month. This boosted shipments so far during the calendar year to 135,232, up 62% last year.
The top destination for the month was Pakistan, receiving 1,648 MT. Iraq was the second most important buyer taking 1,643 MT, followed by China at 1,266 MT.
