Chickpea Imports By Turkey Maintain Solid Trend
PANAMA - Jul 23/24 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of chickpeas during May jumped versus the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Total imports during the month reached 25,372 metric tons (MT), up 53% from the previous month's total of 16,571. So far imports have amounted to 136,681 MT, up from 134,971 in the same period the last calendar year.
The number one supplier during the month was India, shipping 7,006 MT. Russia was the second most important exporter shipping 6,905 MT, followed by Canada at 4,773 MT.
