Canada's Lentil Exports Post Strong Performance
PANAMA - Aug 6/24 - SNS -- Shipments of lentils for Canada posted decent increases, moving relative to the previous month in June, official data from Statistics Canada reveals.
Total exports in the month amounted to 136,462 metric tons (MT), up 16% from the previous month's total of 117,850. So far movement has totalled 1,539,877 MT, down from 2,101,717 during the last marketing year.
For the month, Bangladesh was the number one consumer, taking 60,371 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important buyer taking 36,852 MT, followed by India at 12,068 MT.
