PANAMA - Aug 9/24 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets completed the transition from spot to new crop, with spot bids to farmers converging.
Saskachewan Agriculture said the week started with 1% of the provincial crop in the bin and another 1% lost for because all mustard seed planted in north east Saskatchewan failed.
Progress through the first week of August is on par with recent averages. Interestingly, harvests started earlier prior to 2008, averaging 25% complete by the first week of August, compared to 1.6% in the last 10 years.
