PANAMA - Aug 9/24 - SNS -- Global chickpea markets maintained a relatively firm undertone during the past week, helped by good demand prospects and worries about yields and quality in some net exporting regions.
Kabulis are finding support for large calibers because of shortages of Mexican origin product relative to prospective demand through to next year's harvest.
That should divert some demand into slightly smaller caliber product, which could benefit exporters in Canada and the United States until they face greater competition for the attention of buyers from Argentina and India.
