WASHINGTON - Aug 12/24 - SNS -- Production of sugarcane for sugar and seed is forecast at 34.1 million tons, up 1% from last season, according to the USDA.
Producers intend to harvest 921,000 acres for sugar and seed during the 2024 crop year, down 1% from last season. Yields for sugar and seed are expected to average 37.0 tons per acre, up 0.7 ton from last season.
