PANAMA - Aug 22/24 - SNS -- At this point in the current calendar year maintained a easier tone, with chickpea imports for Turkey fell sharply compared to the previous month in June, according to recent statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Total imports in the month reached 5,411 metric tons (MT), down 79% from the previous month's total of 25,635. So far imports have amounted to 142,703 MT, down from 159,905 in the same period the last calendar year.
The number one origin during the month was Mexico, supplying 3,753 MT. Russia was the second most important export origin supplying 808 MT, followed by Argentina at 479 MT.
