PANAMA - Aug 23/24 - SNS - Birdseed ingredient markets in North America maintained their firm tone in seasonally light trading activity during the past week.
Worries about gross production levels in the United States for millet and sunflower seed combined with concern over how long Canada's railway shut downs will affect movement of canaryseed into export markets.
The slow pace of the harvest is also a rlief to processors and exporters because it reduces pressure on them to try to find ways o accomodate both farmers and end users.
