PANAMA - Sep 14/24 - SNS - Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note, despite quiet trading conditions.
Markets are finding support in worries about production levels for millet and sunflower seed in the United States and limited grower participation in Canadian canaryseed markets.
Growers in Canada may be influenced by the slow pace of the canaryseed harvest. As the week got underway, Saskatchewan Agriculture said 32% of the crop was in the bin, down from 50% last year and the recent five year average of 44%.
