PANAMA - Sep 14/24 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with North American values easing on advancing harvest activity in the region.
This was reflected in the U.S. dry edible bean price index which dropped 3.5 points on the week, closing at 87.2. By contrast, the global pulse price index gained 0.5 points during the week to finish at 103.2 while the Canadian index advanced 1.3 points to close at 90.1.
Limited harvest progress was reported in Canada, while in the United States the week started with an estimated 6% of the crop in the bin, down from 11% last year and the recent average of 12%. This implies roughly 92,100 metric tons (MT) of new crop beans were available in the United States.
