PANAMA - Sep 18/24 - SNS -- Turkey's movement of chickpeas in July made significant gains, advancing versus the previous month, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Shipments for the month reached 29,928 metric tons (MT), up from 19,318 MT the previous month. This boosted export sales so far during the calendar year to 184,929, up 44% last year.
In the month, Iraq was the biggest buyer, receiving 11,316 MT. India was the second most important importer receiving 3,750 MT, followed by Egypt at 1,778 MT.
