PANAMA - Sep 18/24 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year are keeping up a firmer tone, with chickpea imports for Turkey recorded major improvement, soaring compared to the previous month in July, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Imports during the month reached 31,619 metric tons (MT), up from 5,411 MT the previous month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 174,322, up 1% last year.
The top origin for the month was Russia, shipping 19,411 MT. Mexico was the second most important export origin selling 6,968 MT, followed by India at 2,978 MT.
