Lentils Continue Upward Trend
PANAMA - Sep 27/24 - SNS -- Global lentil markets maintained the upward trend seen throughout September, with both red and green lentils continuing to post week over week gains.
Though new crop deliveries by North American growers to processors and exporters are up over last year on a tonnage basis, the proportion of available supplies sold is down from last year.
Reduced grower participation in markets may reflect the fact that prices they are seeing are not only down from what was the case at this time last year, but are also significantly below the 2023-24 season highs.
