PANAMA - Oct 11/24 - SNS -- Chickpea markets finished the week's trading on a moderately firmer note as sales from growers and processors remain slightly behind the short term needs of shippers.
This year's desi chickpea harvest is making steady progress in parts of Australia though processors and exporters indicate growers are not yet demonstrating eagerness to sell new crop product.
Shippers in the country are hopeful actual production will fall far short of current forecasts from ABARES.
