Some Surprise Over Sunflower Numbers
PANAMA - Oct 11/24 - SNS - Birdseed ingredient markets closed the week on a mixed note in relatiovely light trading activity.
Markets in the United States maintained their firmer undertone over concerns about fundamental supply availability across the marketing year.
Such thoughts were underscored by the USDA's first sunflower production estimate, which saw total seeded area reduced 20% from the June estimate to 720,000 acres, with oil type pegged at 596,500 acres and confection at 123,500.
