Chickpea Exports From Turkey Maintain Strong Trend
PANAMA - Oct 29/24 - SNS -- Turkey's exports of chickpeas in August made solid advances, advancing compared to the previous month, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Total export sales during the month reached 41,472 metric tons (MT), up 39% from the previous month's total of 29,928. So far movement has totalled 226,403 MT, up from 152,182 during the previous calendar year.
Iraq was the top buyer during the month, taking 9,819 MT. Algeria was the second most important destination buying 9,380 MT, followed by China at 2,427 MT.
