PANAMA - Nov 8/24 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were largely unchanged during the past week, despite deep concerns about the short term exports from both Canada and the United States.
Despite the worries, the U.S. dry edible bean price index inched 0.1 points higher to finish the week at 93.6 points. By contrast, spot global and Canadian pulse price indices were unchanged on the week closing at 105.3 and 95 respectively
The U.S. index averaged 92.4 points in October, up 3.4% from September but down 9.2% from the same month last year. The global index averaged 107 points in October, up 3.1% from September but down 2.6% from last year. The Canadian index averaged 95.3 points in October, up 5.2% on the month but down 9.2% from the same month last year.
