Canada's Field Pea Exports Record Soft Performance
PANAMA - Dec 5/24 - SNS -- Canada's movement of field peas in October sank compared to the previous month, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Shipments totalled 437,629 metric tons (MT) during the month, down 28% from the 611,509 MT exported the previous month. Movement so far total 1,065,688 MT, compared to 845,526 in the same period the last marketing year.
The number one consumer during the month was India, taking 249,240 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination receiving 79,584 MT, followed by China at 66,800 MT.
