Canaryseed Harvest Increased
PANAMA - Dec 6/24 - SNS - North American birdseed ingredient markets were not overly surprised by Statistics Canada's final canaryseed production estimate for 2024.
Based on a direct survey of about 27,200 Canadian farms between October 4 and November 7, the federal agency boosted its production estimate from 161,840 metric tons (MT) in September to just over 185,200.
Markets had been expecting an increase from September because provincial estimates taken after this year's harvest suggested output could approach 178,000 MT.
