Defensive Mood In Dry Beans

PANAMA - Dec 6/24 - SNS -- North American dry edible bean markets finished the week on a moderately firmer note with many processors and exporters adopting a somewhat defensive posture entering the December and January holiday season.

The U.S. dry edible bean price index rose 0.8 points on the week to finish at 97.2, partly due to defensive pricing as markets in the country transition into the December holiday season.

Similarly, the spot global price index rose 1.6 points during the week to close at 108.5, while the Canadian pulse price indices inched 0.1 points upward to finish at 95.9.
