PANAMA - Dec 11/24 - SNS -- Imports of chickpeas by Turkey rocketed relative to the previous month in October, trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports.
Imports during the month totalled 32,352 metric tons (MT), up from 19,052 MT the prior month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 229,234, up 4% last year.
Current trade statistics showed Russia was number one exporter, shipping 19,701 MT for the month. Mexico was the second most important shipper selling 4,147 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 3,456 MT.
