PANAMA - Dec 13/24 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a slightly firmer note for green but moderately easier for red.
With Australia's harvest nearing completion, competitive pressures have been rising in red lentil markets as shippers there and elsewhere vie for remaining demand from the Indian subcontinent.
Speculation that India could extend the period for duty free imports of yellow peas is seen as somewhat negative for red lentil demand, especially among price conscious importers.
