PANAMA - Dec 20/24 - SNS -- Prices farmers are seeing for mustard seed have been moving in a relatively tight range since the start of the marketing year.
This is evident from the fact the upper end of the range of prices paid to growers for No 1 Canada yellow mustard seed delivered western Canadian processing plants has averaged CDN 43.17 cents per pound since the start of the marketing year, slightly below the week ending bid of 43.5 cents.
The difference between the season average bid for oriental and the week ending bid were similar. The week closed at 31.5 cents per pound, while averaging 31.24 cents so far this season. Brown closed at 32.5 cents per pound, above the season average of 31.76.
