PANAMA - Jan 10/25 - SNS -- International and North American dry edible bean markets were largely unmoved by the final USDA production estimate for 2024.
As a result, the U.S. dry edible bean price index managed a 0.6 point advance on the week to close at 99. Similarly, the spot global price index gained 0.6 points during the week to close at 109.4, while the Canadian pulse price indices inched 0.2 points higher to finish at 95.7.
Last year's U.S. harvest likely reached 1.5 million metric tons (MT) of all classes in states currently and previously included in the NASS reports, up from 1.14 million last year and 30% above the previous five year average of 1.19 million MT.
