Peas Unmoved By USDA Date
PANAMA - Jan 13/25 - SNS -- International and North American field pea markets were largely unmoved by the final USDA production estimates for 2024.
Production of all classes of peas was pegged at 775,600 metric tons (MT), down from 811,700 MT last year.
Surprisingly, the final estimate was down sharply from the USDA's September forecast of an 894,400 MT harvest. This reflected a downward revision in estimated yields in Montana from 1,890 pounds per harvested acre in September to 1,430 pounds in the final estimate.
