PANAMA - Jan 17/25 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the first half of January unchanged to slightly firmer in modest short covering by exporters.
Yellow pea markets were helped by the extension of the period during which product can be shipped to India on a duty free basis.
However, unsold stocks of yellow peas in India are believed to be relatively high. More importantly, they are being offered to millers and wholesalers are much lower prices than are in place for domestic and imported desi chickpeas.
